‘Master Curry Chef’ semi-finalists named
The first 4 finalists who will be cooking in the semi-finals of the Spekko Rice Master Curry Zone have been announced.
They are Tammy Selby who served her Fragrant lamb curry with crispy onions, flatbread, miniature potato and mint samoosas, mango chutney, cucumber raita and Spekko Parboiled Long Grain Rice. Tammy has a promotional gift business in Durban.
Lynette Dorasamy from Malvern is a stay at home mom who prepared an exceptionally tasty Mutton curry served with Spekko Saman Parboiled Rice. Her family came to support her, and ate up the entire curry on the stand – begging or more.
Leelamba Moodley, a granny from Shallcross, made a Vegetarian prawn curry which bowled over judge Chef Luke Nair from The Oyster Box Hotel.
The final contestant chosen on Friday is Annie Lahldas from Tongaat with a Tropical crab curry. Annie, a well-known home chef from Durban, is a woman with “many hands”, Annie cooked on the Spekko Master Curry Zone stand on Women’s Day – and fitted in preparations for a wedding she caters for this weekend.
The last finalists will be announced tonight at the GF & WS in Durban.
