Spekko’s Kaszi Kitchen series
Spekko Rice is the sponsor of Soweto TV’s hit community chef series, Kaszi Kitchen. Filmed in kitchens in all corners of Gauteng, the series features township chefs and cooks who cooks for a living.
Each episode also includes a 10 minute dedicated Spekko Rice recipe slot, presented by Ntwenhle Mpanza.
Ntwenhle is the freelance food editor for Bona and hosts Spekko Rice’s recipe talk on Ukhozi fm. This series will resume mid June on Dudu Khoza’s programme, which airs from 9 – 12. Catch Ntwenhle on Thursday mornings from 9 am.
Kaszi Kitchen is airing on the “free-to-air” Soweto TV channel (also DSTV 150), every Friday at 6.15 pm, and is repeated on Saturdays at 2.14 pm and on 6.30 pm.
Kaszi Kitchen is also broadcasted on 1 KZN, the new community television channel based in Richards Bay.
Try some of Ntwenhle’s recipes featured on this website. Her West African chicken and rice casserole is a particularly popular dish.
Kazsi Kitchen airs until end July 2012, and will resume in early 2013.
