Spekko Family Tables
The Spekko Rice Family Tables series has begun with three different television series, each in a different region, setting Spekko Rice right in the middle of both celebrities’ and ordinary families’ dinner tables. Filmed in October this year, the Spekko Family Table series travelled to KZN, Port Elizabeth and Cape Town and is currently being screened on 1 KZN, Bay TV and Cape TV at 8pm.
The Family Tables series kicked off last week with intrepid Eastern Cape presenter Pumla taking a trip down the charismatic Stanley road. Home to the now famous Fushin restaurant, she learnt the secrets behind Japanese cooking from its master chef and owner Mark Oosthuizen. From stuffing fresh squid to quick and easy fried rice, the fascinating culinary journey of rice and the secrets behind the millions of variables came alive.
Our second episode saw the Family Tables team in KZN. Founders of the Oval International Group of colleges, Pravin and Geetha Maharaj, opened up their home for this episode of Spekko Family Table. A family affair, our 1 KZN presenter Ntwenhle, learnt the secret behind the tantalizing and intrinsic tastes of Indian cooking and the secret spices that go into the Maharaj’ Masala.
