Spekko Cook Idols 3 launches

With music as the inspiration, Spekko Rice is launching the third Spekko Cook Idols at the GF & WS in Durban this year. The competition which was last time round won by Deena Naidoo, now MasterChef SA Season 1, will again be judged by Food Network celebrity chef Reza Mahammad.

So dance and cook some more… if mbaqanga, rock, township jazz, jive, kwela, swing, the blues, R & B or Bollywood seduction is your thing – cook up a seduction dinner to your tune and you could win some of R30 000 in cash.

The competition is looking for the hottest talent in the kitchen, someone who is passionate about entertaining, cooking and swaying to a rhythm at the same time.

This is how you can become the new Spekko Cook Idol:

Prepare a romantic dinner for 2 with recipes served with, inspired by or cooked with one of Spekko Rice’s 5 variants.

Listen to East Coast Radio and enter by phoning in, or enter online Cookidols@goodfoodandwineshow.co.za. and share your favourite celebration, what you cooked or will cook and the playlist of the perfect event.

If you are one of the 24 finalists, you get to strut your stuff at the GF & WS between 24 and 26 October in Durban.

12 Finalists will cook on Friday and 12 on Saturday. You will cook your own dinner and prepare a setting for serving the dinner.

On Sunday 2 cook-offs will take place for the winners of the previous rounds.

So if you think you have what it takes and can wow the judges with your delicious and auspicious sensory presentation, then enter officially and you could be one of our top twenty four who will get a chance to host your dinner live on the Spekko Cook Idols Theatre and stand to share in fabulous cash prizes of R30 000.

The competition is part of Spekko Rice’s aim to introduce the rice as the basis of a perfect meal. The five Spekko Rice variants are:
