Chef – Marinda Engelbrecht
Well-known as the producer of Afrikaans children’s theatre, Marinda Engelbrecht, shot to fame when she became a finalist in the first Kokkedoor reality TV series screened in 2013.
Now, of course, Marinda is better known as the “other half” in the first ever Afrikaans food theatre production – VOORSKOOT.
Written by Marion Holm and co-starring Marinda Engelbrecht, this “emotional” food story is staged with the help of Spekko Rice.
Almost 30 performances later, Marinda and Herman Lensing (Sarie Magazine food editor) can certainly boast that their production is a great success.
Bottled jam, home-churned butter and home-baked bread was the norm when Marinda grew up on a farm in Durbanville. This is where her love for cooking took root, and where her belief that cooking without love will not nourish or satisfy, comes from.
Marinda lives in Hopetown near the West Coast with her husband from where she writes a food blog: www.Marindakook.com
