Things to do for Father’s Day
What do food and fathers have in common? Well, firstly there is a strong physical correlation between the two as, generally, where there’s food, there are men!
Secondly, though many fathers don’t often cook, when they do, it’s usually spectacular! We’re not sure if that’s because the food is good, or if seeing dads cook is so surprising, we can’t help but love the end product. Either way, there’s always something great in the making when dad is in the kitchen!
Yup, be it a simple dish of easy-fried rice or decadent paella with their children’s favourite seafood, whenever dads cook, it’s special. So are the warm hugs, excellent advice and all-round love they give out free of charge. Dads definitely deserve Father’s Day: an occasion that celebrates how amazing they are. Here are some great gift ideas to help make Father’s Day magical.
Get the kids to give him a massage:
Though some men may be too manly to say it, they need and appreciate some pampering too! Get the little ones to rub his tired feet, or treat him to their version of an Indian head massage.
Organise a hobbies day:
Whether it’s rugby with the boys, bodyboarding in the ocean or tasting some wine, organise a day in the near future that’s just for dad. On Father’s Day, present him with a voucher that includes all the details. To add in that extra touch, give the children a card and ask them to scribble in what they love best about dad.
Cook him all of his favourites:
Beyond just a lovely breakfast, consider making a day out of it and get the kids to help you prepare all of his favourite meals. We recommend an easy brunch of cheesy-rice fritattas and peppers, a delicious lunch of roast beef with almond rice, and something sweet like brown-rice pancakes with chocolate and berries for dessert!
